Support Group for Parents of Teens
Being the parent of a teen is both rewarding and challenging. Very often, it entails navigating issues such as lack of focus or direction, defiance, anxiety, depression, disordered eating, experimentation with drugs or vaping, and more. In this group, parents of teens come together to support each other, share stories, and provide unique perspectives on their common experience. The goal of these sessions is to generate knowledge and build capacity to meet the challenges of parenting with compassion, understanding and connection to community.
This group will be facilitated by therapist, Robert Bingham. Robert is committed to creating a welcoming, judgment-free zone where clients can show up exactly as they are. He helps clients build on their social, psychological, and spiritual resources to understand and move past barriers of stress, depression, anxiety and trauma. Robert has extensive experience working with teenagers across community, high school and university mental health settings. In addition to being a therapist, Robert is a registered movement therapist who can integrate mindfulness into therapy sessions to support personal insight and healing.
