NATICK, MA - Movie buffs eager to see films back on the big screen can mark their calendars for May 27, when the Sunbrella IMAX 3D theaters, located in Jordan's Furniture in Natick and Reading, will reopen just in time for summer blockbuster releases.
The theaters are known for the clarity and sharpness of their three-dimensional images because of the use of 4K lasers, which project images onto screens that are eight stories high. They also have an unparalled sound quality, as subwoofers inside every stadium seat amplify the action. The 12,000-watt surround sound provides an immersive experience for viewers.
The Natick theater, located at 1 Underprice Way, was the first Jordan's IMAX theater to open in August 2002. The Reading theater at 50 Walkers Brook Dr. opened during October 2004. In October 2014, Sunbrella took over the sponsorship of the theaters from Verizon, and the Reading theater was upgraded with laser projectors the following year.
To prepare for the crowds to return, Jordan's Furniture is in the process of hiring theater guest representatives. There will be a job fair at the Natick location on Wednesday, May 4 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. There are day, night and weekend shifts available. Some of the perks offered are free popcorn and fountain drinks during shifts, family and friend discounts, access to movie posters and collectibles, and first access to major releases before their opening date.
The theaters are opening after two years of shutting their doors due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A call to the Natick theater was not immediately returned. For more information, check out the website.
