Description
AMAGANSETT, NY — Astro's Pizza, a longtime Amagansett favorite, will have a new owner at the helm this season.
New owner, New York City chef PJ Calapa, is taking over the space, which originally was founded in 1971 — and plans to open for the 2022 season on Memorial Day weekend.
Calapa, who also owns Scampi and The Spaniard, both located in New York, is reopening the eatery alongside investor Ben Leventhal, who is also one of the founders of Resy.
Guest can expect to see his take on traditional Italian dishes and pizza classics, complete with a full bar and family style meals to go, a release said.
Astro Pizza and Felice's Ristorante was sold last summer by the Lupo family after 50 years of ownership.
Appetizers on the new menu will range from $17 to $25; entrées will cost $17 to $31; and desserts will be $6 to $11. The restaurant will be open year-round.
A selection of menu items, subject to change, include Sicilian "sashimi"; eggplant parmigiana; eggplant pomodoro; Mezzaluna Amatriciana; pork ravioli; chicken parmigiana; PJ's Caesar; and chicken piccata.
Astro's Pizza is located at 237 Main Street in Amagansett.
