Framingham State To Dedicate Danforth Museum Lobby To Long-time Patron

FRAMINGHAM, MA – Classes at Framingham State University's Danforth Art School and frequent visits to the Danforth Museum helped fuel Joan Bayon Pinsky's lifelong passion for art. On Saturday, members of her family will gather at the Danforth Art Museum in the Jonathan Maynard Building to rededicate the lobby of the museum in her honor. "Regional museums such as the Danforth rely heavily on the passion and dedication of local art lovers such as Joan Pinsky," said FSU President F. Javier Cevallos. "We are so grateful to her family for their generosity in supporting this beautiful effort to honor their mother." After Pinsky died in August 2020, her children – David, Jeff, Karen and Gregg – reached out to the Danforth about finding a way to honor their mother. Collectively they donated $20,000 to the museum to support renaming the entrance the Joan Bayon Pinsky Lobby. The dedication ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. will include remarks from Cevallos and David Pinsky, a ribbon-cutting, and a tour of the Art School led by director Noelle Fournier.
