STAMFORD, CT — The 52-year-0ld pedestrian who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run last week on Tresser Boulevard in Stamford has died, according to an update from the Stamford Police Department. A suspect has also been identified, but the person is not cooperating with the investigation, police said.
The victim has been identified as Ronald Molina of Stamford. Police said Molina was crossing Tresser Boulevard northbound at Washington Boulevard around 8 p.m. on April 13 when he was hit by a gray Acura that was traveling westbound on Tresser.
The car fled the scene after the collision, and Molina was taken to Stamford Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. Molina died over the weekend.
Officers found the Acura parked near the the scene, but the license plates were removed and the driver was not located, police said.
"A suspect that was believed to have been driving the vehicle that struck Mr. Molina has been identified. That suspect is currently not cooperating with the investigation, but is being encouraged to contact the investigating officers," said SPD Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad (CARS) leader Sgt. Jeffrey Booth in a news release.
Booth told Patch the suspect has two addresses — one in Stamford, and one in New York.
The SPD is asking anyone that may have any information regarding this collision to contact CARS at 203-977-4712.
This incident is being investigated by Booth and officer Lindsey Yanicky.
