BELLMORE, NY — The persistent windy conditions caused a traffic light to droop. Police say a tractor-trailer hit a swaying light on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore. It happened just after 11 a.m. That incident caused the traffic lights to go out on Sunrise at Centre Avenue between Bedford Avenue. Police say there is no estimated time for the electricity to get fixed. Officers will remain at the location until the lights are restored.
