NEW LONDON, CT — A New London man implicated in a 2019 shooting has been sentenced to four years in prison for gun crimes, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Terrence Beddoe, 42, will also serve three years of supervised release. According to prosecutors, Beddoe had an argument with a person at a bar on Bank Street in New London on Oct. 11, 2019. As Beddoe drove away from the bar, shots were fired at the other person, who was standing outside the bar with two other men. A passerby saw the shots being fired from the car Beddoe was driving, and the victim identified the shooter as Beddoe. A law enforcement search of Beddoe's car revealed a spent shell casing similar to shell casings recovered from the scene of the shooting. Beddoe's criminal history includes nine felony convictions, including convictions for second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon related to his stabbing a victim 12 times, and a conviction for accessory to second-degree assault, related to a 2003 incident when two men were shot and injured at a bar in New London. Beddoe pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon. in December. He was released on $50,000 bond and is required to report to prison May 13.
