Description

MANSFIELD, MA — Mansfield residents can help celebrate the Mansfield High class of 2020, which missed out on a traditional graduation ceremony this spring due to the coronavirus health crisis, during a vehicle parade near the high school on Sunday. The parade is expected to start about 1:30 p.m. and last about a half hour. The school has been looking for ways to commemorate the accomplishments of the graduating seniors during these unprecedented times when the spring athletic season, prom, awards night and graduation were either canceled or went virtual due to state coronavirus gathering restrictions. Sunday's vehicle parade course is about 3 miles. It will start at the high school, loop by Flynn's Irish Pub, circle back toward the Mansfield Police Station and finish back at the school. Graduates are asked to follow social distancing guidelines, stay in cars at all times and not litter. Posters and banners are allowed, but should be in proper taste. Students are asked to respectful of neighbors along the route.
