Now you can add soaring gas prices to the list of reasons to pedal to work instead of driving – less environmental impact and great exercise topping the list. Not to mention, the advent of electric bikes opens up even more possibilities. The Chesapeake Bay Watershed has quite a few trails that make switching to two-wheels an easy and efficient way to commute to work. You might even want to factor that into your next decision of where you want to live. Washington, DC has the Capital Bikeshare System making it even easier to cycle between destinations in town – also a great option for visitors. Read Biking to Work, How to Get Started for inspiration and useful ideas for making the switch. Find a trail near you." "Celebrate Trails Day Celebrate Trails Day is an annual spring celebration of America's trails. Trails make getting outdoors and around by foot, bike and wheelchair more accessible for everyone. These essential outdoor spaces give us the space to swap car trips for bike trips, reducing emissions and [delivering] health and happiness for so many people.
