Description
MANSFIELD, MA — Those Mansfield residents requesting an absentee ballot for the upcoming annual town election on June 30, and who check off the "All Elections This Year" option, must declare a party affiliation for the September state primary.
While the Mansfield town clerk's office is promoting mail-in voting this year due to the coronavirus health crisis, there is a reminder that there is a state primary on Sept. 1 and that voters who are either "unenrolled" or "independent" must choose a ballot to receive for that election. Choices are Democrat, Republican, Libertarian or Green Rainbow.
Those who do not select a party will not receive a primary ballot. Voters can also select the "All Elections This Year — Exclude Primaries" option. In this case, voters will receive ballots for the town June elections and the November general election.
Pools will be open on June 30 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Mansfield High School gymnasium for those who would like to vote in person.
