Press release from the City of Ames: April 18, 2022 The community is invited to attend a Fair Housing Month Webinar from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in the City Hall Council Chambers, 515 Clark Ave. The webinar, presented by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, is sponsored by the City of Ames Housing Division, Ames Human Relations Commission (AHRC) and Central Iowa Board of Realtors. Topics to be covered in the webinar include Fair Housing 101, reasonable accommodations and modifications, and LGBTQ+ and equal access protection. Attendees are welcome to stay for some or all of the webinar. Light refreshments will be available. "April is Fair Housing Month, a time to promote awareness of the importance of equal housing opportunities for all," said Vanessa Baker-Latimer, Housing Coordinator.
