OSWEGO, IL — The body of a 69-year-old woman, who had been reported missing by her husband, was found partially submerged in a retention pond Saturday, Oswego police said. No foul play is suspected based on the preliminary investigation, police said, but the investigation is ongoing pending an autopsy, scheduled at the Kane County Coroner's Office Tuesday. The woman's husband called the police around 11 p.m. after his wife went for a walk and didn't return, police said. Police followed the woman's usual walking route when they found her, around 11:27 p.m., in the pond near the southeast corner of Springbrook Trail South and Farmington Lakes Drive. Officials said officers immediately began performing CPR on the unresponsive woman, whose name has not been released, until paramedics arrived to bring her to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. As of Monday morning, police said they do not have additional information to share.
