LOS ANGELES, CA — A nine-hour-long SWAT team standoff ended Wednesday in Los Angeles when officers realized there were no armed suspects in the building.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to an early morning report of three gunmen in a building on the 100 block of South Virgil Avenue in the Rampart Village area Wednesday. The officers arrived on the scene at about 1:15 a.m., and the SWAT Team was called in to secure the building.
It wasn't until 10:30 a.m. that officers secured the building and found that no suspects were inside, according to the LAPD.
An LAPD spokeswoman could not immediately say if there are armed suspects at large nor if victims were inside the building during the standoff.
