DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Three students from Downers Grove Grade School District 58 are set to advance to the national level of the PTA Reflections art competition and five students earned honorable mentions.
The following students will move forward to compete in the National PTA Reflections competition:
Alondra B., of Highland School, for the visual arts piece, "Voices" Drew C., of Kingsley School, for the photography piece, "Kind Animal" Harper M., of Lester School, for the photograph piece, "Trickling Love" The students will exhibit their works during the national competition, which is set for May.
Honorable mentions were earned by the following students:
McKenna B., of Highland School, for the dance choreography piece, "Being Brave" Olivia D., of Highland School, for the photography piece, "Home Sweet Home" Cameron H., of Lester School, for the dance choreography piece, "Being There for Others" Vivian J., of Herrick Middle School, for the literature piece, "It's Time for a Change" Emmett U., of Highland School, for the literature piece, "Moving Mountains" During the PTA Reflections competition, students in preschool through 12th grade compete by sharing works in dance choreography, photography, film production, music composition, literature and visual arts. For the 2021-22 competition, students drew inspiration from the theme, "I Will Change the World By..."
