LIVERMORE, CA — The sig alert issued for I-580 near First Street was lifted just before 3 p.m. Wednesday. Traffic stopped in the Livermore area Wednesday morning after a semi truck flipped on its side. Eastbound traffic was backed up following the crash on I-580 for hours. California Highway Patrol issued the sig alert at 9:06 a.m. after reports that the big rig and its box trailer flipped over. An initial report said it was possible the semi collided with another big rig. The crash blocked four lanes of the freeway. No injuries were reported. The right two lanes were open but traffic was moving slowly as of 10 a.m. At 11:22 a.m. CHP said the truck was upright and the trailer was moved to the center. Two lanes of traffic remained closed. Traffic was backed up to El Charro and Fallon Road. Delays were expected to last up to two hours at least. Photo Credit: California Highway Patrol
