Press release from the City of Shakopee:
April 12, 2022
The city's 2022 Spring Clean Up Day is set for Saturday, April 30 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Public Works, 400 Gorman St.
Residents of Shakopee, Jackson Township, and Louisville Township are invited to participate in the Clean Up Day, which is made possible in part by grants from Scott County. An ID is required to show residency.
Residents can recycle old appliances, electronics, yard waste, tires, car batteries, scrap metal and more at the drop-off recycling event.
Residents will be charged a flat fee based on the type of vehicle hauling the items. Additional costs are applicable, as stated on the city's website.
This event is first-come, first-served. To guarantee that vehicles already in line are processed, the line to enter may be closed off prior to 11:30 a.m.
To review the list of accepted and non-accepted materials for recycling on Clean Up Day, visit www.ShakopeeMN.gov/cleanupday.
Shakopee Rotary will be on site collecting donations of quality used furniture in good condition for Bridging, a local nonprofit that helps families in need. Furniture items can be dropped off at the Clean Up Day event. Pickup service will also be available, if needed. Contact Rotarian Tim Whitcomb at 952-445-6170 for arrangements.
Please ensure your furniture donation is in good condition with no rips, stains or odors. For a complete list of acceptable furniture items, visit bridging.org/give-stuff/.
