HAYWARD, CA — A child's bicycle, stolen in March on the 21000 block of Meekland Avenue in unincorporated Hayward, was found by a "good Samaritan," cleaned, fixed with the help of a local bike shop and reunited with its owner, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office said Monday. "We immediately disseminated information regarding the theft, along with a photo of the bicycle to the community," the agency said. "With the help of a good Samaritan, who contacted our Property Crimes Unit, the bicycle was recovered." However, the bike, reported stolen March 14, was found with missing parts and not in ridable condition. PCU detectives cleaned it and asked bicycle repair shop Area Cycles in Castro Valley to make repairs, so it was in safe, working condition. "The Rivera family was happy to see the bike and appreciative of the efforts made to recover and return it," authorities said. "Many thanks to the good Samaritan, Area Cycle and our PCU detectives for making this little girl's day!" And the agency reminded locals: "No crime is too small to investigate." ----------- IN OTHER AREA NEWS ON PATCH: State Route 84 Closure: What To Know For Upcoming WeekendSan Leandro Shooting Suspect Attempts Suicide In Jail: PoliceWeekend At A Winery: 1 Day, 25+ Wineries & This One's For The DogsComing To Berkeley: Iconic Russian Bakery Plans One-Day Pop-UpDave's Hot Chicken Opens In Union City - With Sliding-Heat-Scale Menu
