DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Two Douglas County students were among top winners at the 74th Georgia Science and Engineering Fair, held recently in Athens at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
Tyler Hagenburg of Mason Creek Middle School in Winston won the IEEE Award for Electrical & Mechanical Engineering in the junior division for his "Hy-Drone" project. IEEE is the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the world's largest professional technical organization. Hagenburg also was awarded the best in category project in the Engineering Mechanics Junior division.
Thomas Bradford of Fairplay Middle School in Douglasville also was among top honorees for his "Turning Turbines" project, deemed best in category in the Energy Physical Junior division.
