advice for customizing Trike from foot to hand pedal/electric

Hello neighbors, I bought a seated foot pedal bike that was supposedly electric but I later found the kit wasn’t fully installed. I’m looking for some advice on how to convert the trike to a hand cranked one for my stepfather who no longer has full use of his legs. Also, any advice on how to add an electric component to the trike would also be helpful! Any and all ideas are welcome and greatly appreciated! The photo posted here is similar to the trike I bought but not the exact one. Thank you and have a splendid 4/20!
