Post-rock band seeking a guitarist/keyboardist
Meets
Portland OR
Description
Hello Guitarists of the PDX Metro Area, We're an instrumental post-rock band (drums, bass, guitars) with three EPs/albums recorded/released. Sadly, we're losing our second guitarist as they are moving out of the country and can't play shows with us from Europe. Given this, we're starting the hunt for a delightful guitarist/multi-instrumentalist to join the band. You can listen to our first three releases at https://mightymissoula.bandcamp.com/ Virga (EP) was an experimental release we worked on (remotely) during COVID and Remnants (LP) was released in early 2020. https://mightymissoula.bandcamp.com/album/remnants Influences range from Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Mono, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, This Will Destroy You, Explosions in the Sky, Caspian, Modest Mouse, Bibio, Hammock...you get the idea. What are we looking for in a second guitarist? Someone to learn/perform layers that we've not been able to incorporate into some of our live shows, help with writing new material. Someone to laugh with. Someone who geeks out more on writing/playing music than over the type of gear they own. Someone who has their own transportation. EXTRA-CREDIT: You can play a bit of keys and are into synths. (as we have some layers we want to incorporate) Some logistics: * We practice, on average, twice/week... (often one weeknight from ~5:30-8pm and on Sunday afternoons. this has felt sustainable/healthy for us) * We like to stay organized (i.e., google calendar invites, consistent practice times) * We split the rent on a $320/mo practice space which you'd have 24/7 access to * We're aiming to audition folks starting in mid-April/May... * We're aiming to start booking a few shows in the Pacific NW this summer (we have a lot of vinyl we didn't get to sell in-person due to COVID) Are you interested in talking further and/or auditioning? Please introduce yourself via email, share some existing material, and let us know how you could see yourself contributing to the next phase of our project. Looking forward to chatting!
