Description
Seasoned classic rock and blues cover band looking for drummer, we are in our 50's (you don't have to be) not looking to "make it" just dig jamming and gigging. Currently rehearsing once a week in Van Nuys.
What happens when a band playing Stones covers morphs in ways unforeseen? Starting life as an unassuming jam among friends, we were all Stones, all the time. Our name at the time was an obscure reference to Keith Richard’s working title for Let it Bleed. Adding to the cannon, we eventually worked tunes from Goats Head Soup into the set and rounded it out with some blues. It’s Only Rock n’ Roll and all, but something wasn’t right.
So…what to do?
Answer - The mix tape you made for that cutie in third period you were too shy to ask out. You want to turn her on to the Stones to be sure, but also to Iggy, Lennon, Johnny Cash, Nina Simone and Queen. You’re hoping she’s into it and getting all the references, so you’re relieved to hear it blaring out of the blown speaker at the party you happily got invited to. Everybody’s dancing and now she’s taking you aside to ask about Howling Wolf AND The Velvet Underground.
Mission accomplished.
So how does this mismatch not descend into chaos? Take a classically trained pianist turned guitarist/metal head - Brian, together with KISS obsessed, Jaco loving, funkster bassist, Gar. Add in Bowie fiend and serious blues aficionado, guitarist Edward and mix in one of the few good things to come out of a Craiglist ad, a chill singer David who seems to be able sing anything, happily at that! all we are missing now is an in the pocket drummer who hits hard to round out an eclectic rock n’roll experience that lets you get your groove on, while always keeping you guessing what we'll do next.
Can you dig it?
