My name is Brett. I'm looking for other musicians who might be particularly exacting about tone and feel, perfectionists, team players, people who demand the best of themselves and their team, content not to just play songs and "make a living" but those who want to achieve more than simply a "living" by working long and hard on something until it's right, something that's so good people can't ignore it. I'm a guitarist, pianist, bassist, drummer, and working hard on developing lead vocal capabilities and I have an extremely sensitive ear. I am also a very proficient songwriter. I am a team player, and do not bring an ego to the creative process. I am willing to listen to any suggestion, and I expect the same. My influences are very wide-ranging, from music of the 1930s, jazz, country, calypso, blues, New Orleans second-line, all the way to the electric blues and jazz of the 1960's and 70's, from Otis Rush to Theolonius Monk. I am influenced as well by Ska, Reggae, even African blues, and RnR from Rosetta Tharpe to Montrose. Looking to put a group together to do originals, have a blast playing live and gaining traction. Think SNL or Tiny Desk. I may already have a drummer lined up, this kid is a phenom. He's 22, I'm 24.
