Description
MALDEN, MA — Malden is seeing an increase in confirmed coronavirus cases, which led to the city being designated a high-risk, or "red," community Oct. 8. City officials have begun handing out washable masks to help residents combat the spread of the virus and reduce Malden's risk designation.
The first handout event was held last week at City Hall, which hundreds of residents attended, Mayor Gary Christenson said. The next event will take place Thursday, Oct. 22 at City Hall from 3-5 p.m.
Christenson reminds residents to take precautionary measures such as limiting private gatherings, maintaining social distancing, wearing a mask and being cautious while in parks and other public spaces.
