Looking for Vocalist for Music Project

Description

Hello, Tldr: Looking for a vocalist for a pop-oriented music project I am starting and producing I'm looking for a vocalist for a music project that I'm trying to get off the ground. I am preferably looking for a female vocalist, but I’m open to whatever really. I have my own home studio with a full equipment setup (speaker monitors, guitars/keyboard, high quality recording microphones, etc.). I would not consider myself a professional musician or producer, but more of a hobbyist. However I am very much interested in taking this project to the next level. Here are some soundcloud links to check out of ideas I've produced entirely on my own: https://soundcloud.com/user-392146640/rising?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing https://soundcloud.com/user-392146640/gettaway-2?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing https://soundcloud.com/user-392146640/ice-in-my-veins?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing Please don't take these songs as final products, as they are just quick ideas/experiments I've come up with that seem to be in line with what I'd like to produce moving forward. The vocals on the tracks are royalty free ones I purchased from the internet, and although I like the way they sound I certainly need to work with an actual vocalist to create completed songs. My goal from a song production standpoint is to utilize synthesized bass elements, incorporate guitar into every song (as long as it's the right fit) and a focus on drum machine sounds from a beat/percussive standpoint. Although my musical influences come from more of a "hard rock" background, I am expecting to produce music almost entirely pop focused. I have been very influenced by synthwave, vaporwave, chill-hop and other lofi genres recently. I try to incorporate elements from those genres in my production which I feel can be a more original or fresh take on the current pop scene. I also seem to lean into making lower BPM oriented songs, but that's certainly not a focal point. Some artists that I would try to potentially take influence from in this project might be the following: PVRIS (pretty big influence) Luav Valley MisterWives Oh Wonder Great Good Fine Ok Charlie Puth Tame Impala (love Kevin Parker, but may not be exactly the approach I'm looking for in this project) I recognize that's a pretty broad and far reaching artist list genre wise (and I certainly understand there is a lack of a "lofi" element for them as well) but they are artists that I generally enjoy. About me and where I'm at in my process: I'm 30, and I live in Old City. My DAW of choice is Logic, and I effectively have every software synth and guitar pedal you can find..... I used to live in San Francisco where I was the guitarist in a band that I wrote music and lyrics for, but I did not produce the songs we have on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/artist/17AdmVP0gUar38zTfQvkze?si=rnYP4_7TQGyP4fy1H1oXoQ We actually have a few more coming out in the next few months where I was working with a professional audio engineer from Hyde Street studios (he worked with Kanye West even, shameless plug for that... so he's pretty good) and I expect those songs to be of a much higher quality. He would still be the mixing/mastering engineer that I would connect with again for this project if it makes it to the final production stages. I moved back to Philly which is where I'm originally from, but I am still in contact with my band from SF and that vocalist. I am not certain how successful remotely working with a vocalist will be, which is why I'm exploring my options right now. I am potentially going to consider continuing to work with her if we can make it work. I'm expecting to connect with a few vocalists before landing on the right person, so it may not be a quick process I don't expect to even make money off of this venture, as music is more of a passion of mine. It is something I am willing to put money into though and see through to a final product. I am taking a "studio production first" approach, even though I have had more of a "jam it out" approach previously. I want to be more deliberate than I've been in the past, and craft really well written and produced songs before worrying about live performances. I'm comfortable writing, performing, recording and producing the songs entirely on my own, but I would welcome a partner in this project who would give input and direction as well (especially in the lyrical writing process) I really can't sing unfortunately! Or at least at a level that I think is proficient enough What I would need from you: Vocal samples of either songs you've written or covers you've done. They don't need to be high quality, but I need to get an understanding of your voice and style. I'd like to have a little blurb about your influences and what you are looking to do to make sure there's alignment Looking forward to connecting
