Dr. Kranzler is conducting a research study at the University of Pennsylvania.
Participants are African American men and women, age 18 and older. The purpose of the study is to learn more about how some people are affected by alcohol dependence, particularly through family history and genetics.
This is a study involving a blood draw, in-person or phone/video conference interview, and questionnaires. We are looking for people with a lifetime history of regular, heavy alcohol use. Current drinking is not required. This is not an alcohol treatment study. Appointments are individual, procedures are at no cost to you, and you will be paid for your participation.
