Fatal Malden Shooting Under Investigation

MALDEN, MA — Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Malden early Tuesday. Around 12:10 a.m., police responded to a reported shooting in the area of Cross Street, the Middlesex District Attorney's office said. Police found a man in his 20s with apparent gunshot wounds to his chest, the DA's office said. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The shooting is not believed to be random, the DA said. So far no arrests have been made. The shooting is under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney's office, Massachusetts State Police and the Malden Police Department.
