Album cd international tour gig credits Billy D & the Rock-its is a 1950s rock'n'roll show band based in Newton, NH (right over the state line from Merrimac, MA). We are currently an 8-piece ensemble consisting of four front-line singers, guitar, bass, drums, and tenor sax, and we have a full PA and private rehearsal space. We have an opening for a female vocalist who can both sing lead and harmony within a vocal ensemble. If you can double on keyboards or other instruments, that would be an added bonus! Being that we are a show band, you must be comfortable and flexible as a stage performer, and able to do some simple choreography. A professional attitude, a desire for excellence, and a strong work ethic is required. Rock and Roll band needs vocals (we are open to either male or female). If you also play an instrument, that's a plus but not required. We are guitar, bass, and drums with one of us singing a few songs and some backup. Our set list could be mostly considered classic rock, but includes everything from a few 50s/60s songs up through the 90s...everything from Eddie Cochran to Stone Temple Pilots. We get together every week and our focus is on playing good music that we enjoy. This is a hobby not a job, we are not rock stars and we all have day jobs and families. We have a couple private parties planned for the summer and hope to book a few more gigs once we have vocals on board.
