Description

From the City of Norwich: June 25, 2020 Because of the pandemic, the City encourages taxpayers to pay their taxes online or through the mail if at all possible. All transaction fees for paying property taxes online will be waived (both credit card and electronic check) until June 30, 2020. From July 1, 2020 through September 30, 2020, the City will waive only the electronic check fees for paying property taxes online. During July 2020, the Tax Office will be accepting in-person payments on Monday through Thursday from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Although they will accept in-person cash payments, the City encourages people paying in-person to pay by personal check, bank check or money order. Cash payments will be accepted but, in order to lessen the chance of spreading germs, please consider paying by any means other than cash if at all possible. Also, during July 2020, as in previous years, in addition to paying online or through the mail, taxpayers may also pay their taxes in person with cash or check at any PeoplesUnited Bank branch location.
