JOB DESCRIPTION Drive to your lakeside work in a welcoming, peaceful, and attractive home, helping a supportive, reasonable senior couple. Receive pay that can give you peace of mind about your extra expenses, or the cheerful promise of a future vacation. After one year, you can look forward to two weeks of paid vacation, plus an optional two vacation weeks without pay. All equipment and supplies will be provided. Some flexibility in work days and hours may be available. This job includes a variety of activities helping an appreciative couple in a familiar home, not the same boring cleaning routine that makes you feel like an anonymous robot as you rush from one unfamiliar, uncaring house or office to the next. WORK DAYS AND HOURS Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 9:00 am. to 1:00 pm. Some flexibility in days and hours may be available. RESPONSIBILITIES Cleaning and everyday housekeeping; Various local errands, eg. going to the market, the pharmacy, the post office; Laundry; Special projects, eg. cleaning and organizing closets, drawers, the refrigerator/freezer, polishing silver; Occasional cleaning and organization of household areas, eg. the basement, attic, garage, with our help/guidance; Simple meal preparation; Occasional trips driving to medical appointments; Other activities that you or we think would be helpful. APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS A current driver's license, and your own safe, dependable car with required insurance, and a safe driving record with the DMV are necessary; You can pass a criminal background (CORI) test; You can pass a drug screening test; You can make a long-term commitment; You have the ability to speak and write English well enough to do this job competently; Formal work experience in this field is desirable, but not required, if you have the necessary qualities and skills; References from at least three people, including two from recent employers, if possible (with their telephone numbers if applicant is offered an interview) are necessary; You are honest and dependable.
