House concert and taping for the PBS series THE LIFE OF A MUSICIAN with host Brandon Lee Adams featuring Alecia Nugent and Darren Nicholson. A live recording session for the PBS series The Life of a Musician will be held here on Thursday evening, May 12. The Old West End's Brandon Lee Adams hosts this new PBS series. This episode features Alecia Nugent and Darren Nicholson.  Alecia Nugent, a country, Americana, bluegrass vocalist has worked with bluegrass legend Carl Jackson and was nominated for IBMA Female Vocalist of The Year in 2009. She's a multiple SPBGMA Award winner. Alecia will be performing with Darren Nicholson of the bluegrass band Balsam Range, and host Brandon Lee Adams. Darren Nicholson is also a bluegrass and Americana musician from the mountains of western North Carolina. He’s a Grammy nominee, recipient of multiple IBMA Awards. Your ticket includes a light supper and beverages from 6:00 to 6:30. No seating while the session is being recorded from 6:30 until intermission. This House Concert is presented by the historic district's nonprofit organization Friends of the Old West End in partnership with Gerst House Productions.
