Community Experience: Group Mentoring with Boys to Men Mentoring--Virginia

Allowing participants to learn about group mentoring and the circles that are the foundation for the work done by Boys to Men Mentoring--VA. As work continues to move forward for the Youth and Family Master Plan, mentoring has been mentioned frequently as a need for young people within the city to have the opportunity to build relationships with trusted adults. Boys to Men Mentoring Network of Virginia (BTMVA) offers young men a safe place where they can talk about what is really going on in their lives, as well as a community of mentors and peers who listen, believe in them, and help them make better choices. This event will allow community members and community leaders to learn about group mentoring and experience a circle with the hope of the community becoming invigorated about the opportunity to see the impact of having BTMVA operate a circle in Petersburg. This event is limited in seating and tickets are required through Eventbrite. It will be held in the multi-purpose room at the Petersburg Public Library on Tuesday, May 10th from 6:00-7:30 PM.
