Description
Participants will have the opportunity to reach across cultural and racial lines, to find connection and friendship.
The 1st Annual Race Amity Festival of Albuquerque
Are you looking for a meaningful event where you and your family can interact with culturally diverse people in a safe environment?Do you enjoy meeting diverse people?Would you love to be a part of a movement to create a more just and friendly community, through cross-cultural friendship, communication and collaboration?Do you want your children to be aware of diversity in people and naturally reach out in friendship rather than fear?If so, we invite you to participate in the first Race Amity Festival in Albuquerque, where we are reaching out to different members of the community in a grass-roots effort to make this happen.
We are a work in progress and your suggestions are welcome. There will be some group activities for children and an opportunity to make friendship bracelets to give away.
There will be a sharing of prayers in different languages by different racial groups, performance of songs, drumming or dancing. We are a work in progress, so it's not set in stone. This is what we are working towards.
Each family is asked to bring a snack or simple dish to share.
There will be a reading of a PROCLAMATION OF RACE AMITY.
And more....
We invite you to join us in creating a new tradition where friendships are formed across racial and cultural lines, and diverse people work together to create the just and kind world we are all longing for.
