What is Measure A and why is it necessary? What is Measure A and why do we need to support it? Most of us know Manhattan Beach schools have suffered from decades of inadequate state funding. We are, in fact, among the lowest funded school districts in all of California. By comparison, our students receive approximately $2,000 less than the state average. To protect and maintain high-quality education in our schools, we NEED a stable source of LOCALLY CONTROLLED funding that the STATE CANNOT TAKE AWAY. Measure A is the clear solution to bring vital resources and adequate funding into our classrooms. Measure A is different than MBEF and PTA.
