RAIN OR SHINE! Bring your friends and family and spend the afternoon on a farm adventure on the Davidson County Farm Tour. RAIN OR SHINE Come take a day trip and tour local, sustainable farms in Davidson County. Meet your local farmers who produce delicious meat, dairy, honey, fruits and veggies, discover beautiful and unique varieties of flowers and plants right here in the Piedmont! Blu's Farm - A unique flower farm dedicated to daylilies with over 500 varieties. They have expanded their collection to hostas, irises and water plants. This time of year is particularly spectacular. Don't miss this unique moment. BN Acres Farm - Pasture-raised Charolais cows. The Charolais breed is well-known in France. These cows' hides are completely white. Cows are pasture-raised and grass-finished, which means they do not fatten the cows with grain. The meat tends to be much leaner, lower fat and excellent for those sensitive to corn. Bumbleberry Farm - A mother-son venture building turning their family property into a season-extension vegetable farm. Find out why they have built their own composting system to control the quality of their soil. Fat Daddy Farms - A first generation farm in Thomasville. We raise dwarf Nigerian goats and chickens, and have tripled the size of our gardens this year so we will have a variety of fresh vegetables and farm fresh eggs for your visit. Learn about their journey to becoming a farmer. Gentle Harmony Farm - Small USDA organic certified herb farm. Gentle Harmony usually does not open up to the public. Come visit a unique farm where herbs used for tinctures, teas and cosmetics are grown for companies across the United States. Klymer Ridge Farm & Homestead - A small farm in Thomasville NC using regenerative practices by leveraging their livestock to build soil and quality forage at the same time. They raise their cattle, pigs and chickens for beef, pork, poultry and eggs. Rierson Farms - Come meet their goats. The Rierson's raise their goats for their milk which they use in their handcrafted soaps and goat milk products. They are first-generation farmers and are steadily expanding what they raise. Roberts Farm - A first generation farm raising Angus cattle practicing rotational grazing. Roberts Farm raises cattle until they are in the age between 16-20 months at processing which produces a tender product. The forage grass on Roberts Farm is in itself beautiful. Healthy forage means healthy cows. SandyCreek Farm - The Garners planted their blueberry orchard in 2008. What started out as a hobby and a novel idea of fixing a cabin turned into a full-time farm lifestyle. They built a farm store and started venturing into raising shiitake mushrooms, which they have grouped in the woods next to their blueberry orchard. The early variety blueberries will be ready by the time the Farm Tour begins. Snider's Dairy - Snider’s Dairy Farm is home to some of the friendliest dairy cows you will ever meet. All animals are given names and are referred to by their names on a daily basis. Snider Dairy Farm is devoted to changing the way people see dairy farming and educating others about the lavish life that dairy cows live. Snider’s Dairy Farm primarily milks Jersey, Holstein, Guernsey and Brown Swiss cows. Visit davidsoncountyfood.com to find out more detail about each farm, and use our map to help you organize your day efficiently.
