Norwalk Community Health Center, Inc. (NCHC) will open new doors to family and behavioral health with the addition of a second location at Smilow Life Center, to better serve residents of South Norwalk and greater Norwalk. Following the ribbon cutting on November 18, between 2:30 pm and 5 pm, the public is invited to stop in for a socially-distanced tour of the new space and meet the medical and behavioral health teams who look forward to serving patients at Norwalk Community Health Center at Smilow Life Center, 55 Chestnut Street, Norwalk, CT 06854. Social distancing and hand hygiene will be observed and masks are required. What started out in 1999 and remains a safety net for 15% of greater Norwalk men, women, and children who are uninsured, underinsured or otherwise unable to find health care within reach, has evolved into a continuum of care organization and provider of choice for pediatric, women's, adult, behavioral and adult and pediatric dental health and wellness services. NCHC is a nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center and a Patient-Centered Medical Home that provides comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral care to men, women and children in Fairfield County, regardless of ability to pay.
