SUDBURY, MA — The Boston Marathon returned on its traditional Patriots Day date this week, with more than 25,000 athletes completing the 26.2-mile course from Hopkinton to Boylston Street. Among those runners were 16 Sudbury residents who ran the 126th Boston Marathon. Evans Chebet of Kenya took first place among the men with a finishing time of 2:06:51, and Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya won in the women's group with a time of 02:21:01. One Sudbury resident finished with an elite level time under three hours. Benjamin MacDonald, 26, placed 46th overall in the men's group, 53rd across all runners.
