NEW HAVEN, CT — Just before midnight on April 11, police were called to Wooster Street for a burglary in progress. Once at the scene between Warren Street and DePalma Court, cops found a man "hiding behind garbage cans in an alley, who began to flee," police spokesperson Scott Shumway said.
After a short chase on foot, police caught Stanley Rudolph, 29, of New Haven, he said. Shumway said police found a "loaded .45 caliber handgun next to the garbage cans where they first encountered Rudolph."
Rudolph, who was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree trespass and interfering with police, was held on $75,000 bail.
