LYNNFIELD, MA — The Lynnfield Fire Department had a busy year in 2019. The department rang in 2020 by reflecting on all the work that was done in 2019. In volume alone, Lynnfield fire officials said 2019 was their busiest year yet, answering over 2,000 calls. Over the course of the year, the fire department responded to 2,022 calls. The majority of the calls weren't about fires, but for rescues and EMS. To highlight the variety of calls that come in, the department published a breakdown of the calls received throughout the year. Of the 2,022 calls the Lynnfield Fire Department answered: 89 were fire calls1,242 were rescue and EMS calls70 were hazardous condition calls223 were service calls115 were good intent calls275 were false alarms8 were severe weather relatedThe department also had calls coming in at the same time and kept track of them.
