Press release from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office: April 18, 2022 STANWOOD, Wash. – Around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sheriff's Office deputies and Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives responded to a single-vehicle fatal collision in the 14900 block of W. Lake Goodwin Rd. When deputies arrived, they found the driver, a 21-year-old man, deceased at the scene. The passenger, a 15-year-old girl, was transported by aid to Providence Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. During the investigation, detectives learned the vehicle was traveling northbound when it lost control, left the roadway, hit several rocks, and then struck a power pole. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. The road was closed for several hours Saturday while detectives investigated the crash. Positive identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner of death, will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
