NORWALK, CT — A "serious" high-speed, one motor vehicle crash on Fairfield Avenue in Norwalk Monday morning resulted injuries for the driver and the temporary closure of the road, according to authorities.
"The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital for injuries, although the extent of the injuries are unknown," said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler in a statement. Norwalk police also posted about the crash on its Twitter page.
According to police, the vehicle exited I-95 and sped through the Fairfield Avenue intersection and smashed into a stone wall and tree. In addition to Fairfield Avenue from Cedar to Reed streets, exit 14 of I-95 also was temporarily closed.
