The City of Bowie Parks and Grounds and Stormwater Divisions are currently accepting applications for the position of Temporary Laborer. Duties for the Parks and Grounds Division positions include: mowing, ballfield preparation, flowerbed maintenance and assisting with leaf collection. Duties for Stormwater Division positions include: stormwater maintenance, commercial mowing and assisting the Utilities Division when needed. Positions in both divisions require the ability to perform temporary manual labor for extended periods in all weather conditions. Applicants must have the ability to follow specific instructions; perform heavy manual labor; and lift and move some heavy objects. Qualifications for parks and grounds: Valid Driver’s License High School diploma or equivalent preferred Horticultural experience preferred (landscaping, mowing, etc.) Qualifications for the Stormwater Division: Valid driver’s license High School diploma or equivalent preferred Commercial mowing and semi-skilled manual work in construction highly desirable Salary: $17.21 hourly *COVID-19 vaccination required in order to qualify for this position.
