In this workshop, we’ll prepare you with the knowledge to clean headstones using the correct preservation materials and techniques. We’ll also share best practices in navigating cemeteries causing minium impact on the graves and enviroment.
This event is in partnership with the Chattanooga Historical Society, the African American Cemetery Preservation Fund, and Pleasant Garden Cemetery.
Pleasant Garden Cemetery was formally organized in March 1891. It was promoted as the first privately owned Black cemetery in Tennessee. The abandoned cemetery sits on 17 acres of land.
