MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Morristown man fired a gun Monday night inside a Morris Township home while a child was present, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. Stephen J. Clemo damaged property inside, but nobody reported injuries, authorities said. Clemo, 46, was inside the victim's Egbert Hill Road home at about 8 p.m. Monday, the prosecutor's office said. The man shot a gun once, while the victim and their family were inside, authorities said. A spokesperson for the prosecutor's office declined to comment on what led to the alleged shooting. Morris Township police went to the home following a 911 call. Clemo surrendered when they arrived, officials said. Clemo was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, endangering the welfare of a child (both second-degree offenses), criminal mischief and harassment (both disorderly persons offenses). He is currently in custody, the prosecutor's office said Tuesday afternoon. Thanks for reading. Have a news tip? Email [email protected].
