NORWALK, CT — The city's snow emergency will be lifted Friday at midnight, Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling announced. Norwalk was under the order from Wednesday at 1 p.m. due to Winter Storm Gail, which dumped a significant amount of snow throughout the region. City Hall and other city facilities will be open regular hours on Friday, Rilling said. Norwalk Public Schools, which were closed Thursday, will return to remote learning schedules on Friday. The Yankee Doodle Garage and Maritime Garage will remain open for free parking until 7 a.m. Friday, and Thursday's garbage and recycling routes also will be collected on Friday.
