CRANSTON, RI — The Boston Marathon returned on its traditional Patriots Day date this week, with more than 25,000 athletes completing the 26.2-mile course from Hopkinton to Boylston Street.
Cranston saw six athletes represent the city in the 126th Boston Marathon.
Evans Chebet of Kenya took first place among the men with a finishing time of 2:06:51, and Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya won in the women's group with a time of 02:21:01.
