WEST CHESTER —Chester County Realtor Ron Vogel supports ending what he calls "wasteful government spending" and helping working families earn a decent living.
Vogel, 36, of Chester Spring is seeking the Republican nomination for 6th Congressional District, which covers all of Chester County and southeastern Berks County.
He is one of four Republican candidates hoping to unseat Democrat Chrissy Houlahan, who was elected in 2018, and took office in 2019.
The others are Regina Mauro, Devon; Steve Fanelli, West Chester; and Guy Ciarrocchi, 57, Tredyffrin Township.
Houlahan, an Air Force veteran, is running unopposed as a Democrat.
"I grew up in a world where life was simple, wholesome and full of opportunity," Vogel, who grew up in the Glenmoore village of Wallace Township, said in his website. "Cell phones were rare. Most people did not have the Internet, and social media did not exist."
A graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, Vogel earned a bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University. He is married to Shelby and has three young children.
Vogel has a passion for ice hockey, playing for over three decades.
"The players who work the hardest on the ice help their term the most," he said. "The mutual respect between teams is real and genuine."
Vogel said if elected he will bring his work ethic and respect for people on both sides of the aisle to Washington, D.C., to help Americans win.
