Want to roll up your sleeves, get outside and learn about what we can do together to make our wetlands and river waters safe and healthy?
Come join conservation partners from the Wallkill River Watershed Management Group, The Nature Conservancy and the Paulins Kill Watershed Coordinator for an educational and interactive Community Stewardship Event! Participants will learn about the large scale floodplain reforestation project taking place in their community and help conservation partners to complete the final stages of the project. Event activities will include: survivability data collection, tree tube and stake removal and site clean-up/litter removal. In addition to the hand-on activities, event partners will teach participants about the importance of protecting our freshwater resources, benefits of tree plantings for river restoration, how and why we collect scientific data for water quality monitoring and much, much more!
