SUMMARY: The goal of this position is to provide general viticulture support, focusing in the areas of scouting, data collection and special assignment viticulture projects for The Duckhorn Portfolio Estate Vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties. The estimated time frame for this position is May 2nd through October 14th. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Field Scouting for common vineyard pest and disease • Assist Viticulture team with data collection for Master Vineyard Legend • Assist with crop estimation process – cluster counts, weights, and data input • Key Phenology tracking data input • Seasonal Vineyard Trials – data collection and correlation • Grower support as needed – crop estimation and scouting • Special projects as assigned • Understand and follow all safety protocols as outlined in the company IIPP and as required by OSHA QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record • Ability to work outdoors and in varying climatic conditions and uneven terrain • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs • Must be a self-starter with strong work ethic and good communication skills • Must be able to work independently for extended periods of time and remain on task • Must be able to work outside for extended lengths of time during periods of extreme weather PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
