NORWALK, CT — A 32-year-old New Canaan woman was arrested on a warrant this week in connection with several commercial burglaries at businesses in Norwalk, according to authorities, and as a result she reportedly has been suspended from her New Canaan government job. Lindsey Lyon is accused of being an accomplice in a string of commercial burglaries in Norwalk that took place in October, according to police. Following her arrest, Lyon, an employee in the Registrar of Voters office in New Canaan for six years, was placed on administrative leave without pay, writes The Hour. "Lyon and an accomplice broke into numerous local business during the overnight hours, causing hundreds of dollars of damage and stealing cash," said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler. "The Detective Bureau investigated these cases extensively and identified Lyon as a suspect." Among the businesses Lyon is accused of burglarizing are Cafe Dolce on Main Avenue and Mister Sports on Main Street, according to The Hour. "This is an active investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the [Norwalk Police] Detective Bureau at 203-854-3011," Zwickler added. Lyon was charged with the following: Conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary (6 counts)Conspiracy to commit sixth-degreee larceny (5 counts)Sixth-degree larceny (5 counts) She was held in lieu of bail of $220,000, and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Feb. 5.
