Session Topics: Self-Confidence, Mental Health, and Social Isolation Due to COVID-19 Transformative Healing for Indigenous Youth Summit is sponsored by a Spirit of the Youth grant, awarded to Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (Tlingit & Haida). This project was designed to bring youth leaders (ages 12-24 years old) together to discuss mental health, culturally responsive coping techniques for dealing with stress and other life challenges, and advocacy skills. Our youth committee believes that addressing these issues helps empower their generation to advocate for change, strengthen their coping skills and learning ways to support their friends and family as well as their own mental health wellness. Youth leaders have designed and organized this half-day, in-person summit to teach such skills to their peers!
